Torah 105 7/12/17 Numbers Chapter 5

יח  וְהֶעֱמִיד הַכֹּהֵן אֶת-הָאִשָּׁה, לִפְנֵי יְהוָה, וּפָרַע אֶת-רֹאשׁ הָאִשָּׁה, וְנָתַן עַל-כַּפֶּיהָ אֵת מִנְחַת הַזִּכָּרוֹן מִנְחַת קְנָאֹת הִוא; וּבְיַד הַכֹּהֵן יִהְיוּ, מֵי הַמָּרִים הַמְאָרְרִים.    18 

And the priest shall set the woman before the LORD, and let the hair of the woman's head go loose, and put the meal-offering of memorial in her hands, which is the meal-offering of jealousy; 

and the priest shall have in his hand the water of bitterness that causeth the curse.

יט  וְהִשְׁבִּיעַ אֹתָהּ הַכֹּהֵן, וְאָמַר אֶל-הָאִשָּׁה אִם-לֹא שָׁכַב אִישׁ אֹתָךְ, וְאִם-לֹא שָׂטִית טֻמְאָה, תַּחַת אִישֵׁךְ--הִנָּקִי, מִמֵּי הַמָּרִים הַמְאָרְרִים הָאֵלֶּה.    19 

And the priest shall cause her to swear, and shall say unto the woman: 

'If no man have lain with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to uncleanness, being under thy husband, be thou free from this water of bitterness that causeth the curse;

כ  וְאַתְּ, כִּי שָׂטִית תַּחַת אִישֵׁךְ--וְכִי נִטְמֵאת; וַיִּתֵּן אִישׁ בָּךְ אֶת-שְׁכָבְתּוֹ, מִבַּלְעֲדֵי אִישֵׁךְ.    20 

and if thou hast gone aside, being under thy husband, and if thou be defiled, and some man have lain with thee besides thy husband--

כא  וְהִשְׁבִּיעַ הַכֹּהֵן אֶת-הָאִשָּׁה, בִּשְׁבֻעַת הָאָלָה, וְאָמַר הַכֹּהֵן לָאִשָּׁה, יִתֵּן יְהוָה אוֹתָךְ לְאָלָה וְלִשְׁבֻעָה בְּתוֹךְ עַמֵּךְ--בְּתֵת יְהוָה אֶת-יְרֵכֵךְ נֹפֶלֶת, וְאֶת-בִּטְנֵךְ צָבָה.    21 

then the priest shall cause the woman to swear with the oath of cursing, and the priest shall say unto the woman--

the LORD make thee a curse and an oath among thy people, when the LORD doth make thy thigh to fall away, and thy belly to swell;

כב  וּבָאוּ הַמַּיִם הַמְאָרְרִים הָאֵלֶּה, בְּמֵעַיִךְ, לַצְבּוֹת בֶּטֶן, וְלַנְפִּל יָרֵךְ; וְאָמְרָה הָאִשָּׁה, אָמֵן אָמֵן.    22 

and this water that causeth the curse shall go into thy bowels, and make thy belly to swell, and thy thigh to fall away'; 

and the woman shall say: 

'Amen, Amen.'

כג  וְכָתַב אֶת-הָאָלֹת הָאֵלֶּה, הַכֹּהֵן--בַּסֵּפֶר; וּמָחָה, אֶל-מֵי הַמָּרִים.    23 

And the priest shall write these curses in a scroll, and he shall blot them out into the water of bitterness.

כד  וְהִשְׁקָה, אֶת-הָאִשָּׁה, אֶת-מֵי הַמָּרִים, הַמְאָרְרִים; וּבָאוּ בָהּ הַמַּיִם הַמְאָרְרִים, לְמָרִים.    24 

And he shall make the woman drink the water of bitterness that causeth the curse; 

and the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her and become bitter.

כה  וְלָקַח הַכֹּהֵן מִיַּד הָאִשָּׁה, אֵת מִנְחַת הַקְּנָאֹת; וְהֵנִיף אֶת-הַמִּנְחָה לִפְנֵי יְהוָה, וְהִקְרִיב אֹתָהּ אֶל-הַמִּזְבֵּחַ.    25 

And the priest shall take the meal-offering of jealousy out of the woman's hand, and shall wave the meal-offering before the LORD, and bring it unto the altar.

כו  וְקָמַץ הַכֹּהֵן מִן-הַמִּנְחָה אֶת-אַזְכָּרָתָהּ, וְהִקְטִיר הַמִּזְבֵּחָה; וְאַחַר יַשְׁקֶה אֶת-הָאִשָּׁה, אֶת-הַמָּיִם.    26 

And the priest shall take a handful of the meal-offering, as the memorial-part thereof, and make it smoke upon the altar, and afterward shall make the woman drink the water.

כז  וְהִשְׁקָהּ אֶת-הַמַּיִם, וְהָיְתָה אִם-נִטְמְאָה וַתִּמְעֹל מַעַל בְּאִישָׁהּ--וּבָאוּ בָהּ הַמַּיִם הַמְאָרְרִים לְמָרִים, וְצָבְתָה בִטְנָהּ וְנָפְלָה יְרֵכָהּ; וְהָיְתָה הָאִשָּׁה לְאָלָה, בְּקֶרֶב עַמָּהּ.    27 

And when he hath made her drink the water, then it shall come to pass, if she be defiled, and have acted unfaithfully against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall fall away; 

and the woman shall be a curse among her people.

כח  וְאִם-לֹא נִטְמְאָה הָאִשָּׁה, וּטְהֹרָה הִוא--וְנִקְּתָה, וְנִזְרְעָה זָרַע.    28 

And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; 

then she shall be cleared, and shall conceive seed.

כט  זֹאת תּוֹרַת, הַקְּנָאֹת, אֲשֶׁר תִּשְׂטֶה אִשָּׁה תַּחַת אִישָׁהּ, וְנִטְמָאָה.    29 

This is the law of jealousy, when a wife, being under her husband, goeth aside, and is defiled;

ל  אוֹ אִישׁ, אֲשֶׁר תַּעֲבֹר עָלָיו רוּחַ קִנְאָה--וְקִנֵּא אֶת-אִשְׁתּוֹ; וְהֶעֱמִיד אֶת-הָאִשָּׁה, לִפְנֵי יְהוָה, וְעָשָׂה לָהּ הַכֹּהֵן, אֵת כָּל-הַתּוֹרָה הַזֹּאת.    30 

or when the spirit of jealousy cometh upon a man, and he be jealous over his wife; 

then shall he set the woman before the LORD, and the priest shall execute upon her all this law.

לא  וְנִקָּה הָאִישׁ, מֵעָו‍ֹן; וְהָאִשָּׁה הַהִוא, תִּשָּׂא אֶת-עֲו‍ֹנָהּ.  {פ}    31 

And the man shall be clear from iniquity, and that woman shall bear her iniquity. {P}

Chapter 6

א  וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה, אֶל-מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר.    1 

And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:

ב  דַּבֵּר אֶל-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵהֶם:  אִישׁ אוֹ-אִשָּׁה, כִּי יַפְלִא לִנְדֹּר נֶדֶר נָזִיר--לְהַזִּיר, לַיהוָה.    2 

Speak unto the sons of Israel, and say unto them: 

When either man or woman shall clearly utter a vow, the vow of a Nazirite, to consecrate himself unto the LORD,

ג  מִיַּיִן וְשֵׁכָר יַזִּיר, חֹמֶץ יַיִן וְחֹמֶץ שֵׁכָר לֹא יִשְׁתֶּה; וְכָל-מִשְׁרַת עֲנָבִים לֹא יִשְׁתֶּה, וַעֲנָבִים לַחִים וִיבֵשִׁים לֹא יֹאכֵל.    3 

he shall abstain from wine and strong drink: 

he shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat fresh grapes or dried.

א  וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה, אֶל-מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר. 1 

And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:

ב  צַו, אֶת-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, וִישַׁלְּחוּ מִן-הַמַּחֲנֶה, כָּל-צָרוּעַ וְכָל-זָב; וְכֹל, טָמֵא לָנָפֶשׁ. 2 

'Command the children of Israel, that they put out of the camp every leper, and every one that hath an issue, and whosoever is unclean by the dead;

ג  מִזָּכָר עַד-נְקֵבָה תְּשַׁלֵּחוּ, אֶל-מִחוּץ לַמַּחֲנֶה תְּשַׁלְּחוּם; וְלֹא יְטַמְּאוּ אֶת-מַחֲנֵיהֶם, אֲשֶׁר אֲנִי שֹׁכֵן בְּתוֹכָם. 3 

both male and female shall ye put out, without the camp shall ye put them; 

that they defile not their camp, in the midst whereof I dwell.'

ד  וַיַּעֲשׂוּ-כֵן, בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, וַיְשַׁלְּחוּ אוֹתָם, אֶל-מִחוּץ לַמַּחֲנֶה:  כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יְהוָה אֶל-מֹשֶׁה, כֵּן עָשׂוּ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל.  {פ} 4 

And the children of Israel did so, and put them out without the camp; 

as the LORD spoke unto Moses, so did the children of Israel. {P}

ה  וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה, אֶל-מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר. 5 

And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:

ו  דַּבֵּר, אֶל-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, אִישׁ אוֹ-אִשָּׁה כִּי יַעֲשׂוּ מִכָּל-חַטֹּאת הָאָדָם, לִמְעֹל מַעַל בַּיהוָה; וְאָשְׁמָה, הַנֶּפֶשׁ הַהִוא. 6 

Speak unto the children of Israel: 

When a man or woman shall commit any sin that men commit, to commit a trespass against the LORD, and that soul be guilty;

ז  וְהִתְוַדּוּ, אֶת-חַטָּאתָם אֲשֶׁר עָשׂוּ, וְהֵשִׁיב אֶת-אֲשָׁמוֹ בְּרֹאשׁוֹ, וַחֲמִישִׁתוֹ יֹסֵף עָלָיו; וְנָתַן, לַאֲשֶׁר אָשַׁם לוֹ. 7 

then they shall confess their sin which they have done; 

and he shall make restitution for his guilt in full, and add unto it the fifth part thereof, and give it unto him in respect of whom he hath been guilty.

ח  וְאִם-אֵין לָאִישׁ גֹּאֵל, לְהָשִׁיב הָאָשָׁם אֵלָיו--הָאָשָׁם הַמּוּשָׁב לַיהוָה, לַכֹּהֵן:  מִלְּבַד, אֵיל הַכִּפֻּרִים, אֲשֶׁר יְכַפֶּר-בּוֹ, עָלָיו. 8 

But if the man have no kinsman to whom restitution may be made for the guilt, the restitution for guilt which is made shall be the LORD'S, even the priest's; 

besides the ram of the atonement, whereby atonement shall be made for him.

ט  וְכָל-תְּרוּמָה לְכָל-קָדְשֵׁי בְנֵי-יִשְׂרָאֵל, אֲשֶׁר-יַקְרִיבוּ לַכֹּהֵן--לוֹ יִהְיֶה. 9 

And every heave-offering of all the holy things of the children of Israel, which they present unto the priest, shall be his.

י  וְאִישׁ אֶת-קֳדָשָׁיו, לוֹ יִהְיוּ; אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר-יִתֵּן לַכֹּהֵן, לוֹ יִהְיֶה.  {פ} 10 

And every man's hallowed things shall be his: 

whatsoever any man giveth the priest, it shall be his. {P}

יא  וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה, אֶל-מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר. 11 

and the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:

יב  דַּבֵּר אֶל-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵהֶם:  אִישׁ אִישׁ כִּי-תִשְׂטֶה אִשְׁתּוֹ, וּמָעֲלָה בוֹ מָעַל. 12 

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them: 

If any man's wife go aside, and act unfaithfully against him,

יג  וְשָׁכַב אִישׁ אֹתָהּ, שִׁכְבַת-זֶרַע, וְנֶעְלַם מֵעֵינֵי אִישָׁהּ, וְנִסְתְּרָה וְהִיא נִטְמָאָה; וְעֵד אֵין בָּהּ, וְהִוא לֹא נִתְפָּשָׂה. 13 

and a man lie with her carnally, and it be hid from the eyes of her husband, she being defiled secretly, and there be no witness against her, neither she be taken in the act;

יד  וְעָבַר עָלָיו רוּחַ-קִנְאָה וְקִנֵּא אֶת-אִשְׁתּוֹ, וְהִוא נִטְמָאָה; אוֹ-עָבַר עָלָיו רוּחַ-קִנְאָה וְקִנֵּא אֶת-אִשְׁתּוֹ, וְהִיא לֹא נִטְמָאָה. 14 

and the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be defiled; 

or if the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be not defiled;

טו  וְהֵבִיא הָאִישׁ אֶת-אִשְׁתּוֹ, אֶל-הַכֹּהֵן, וְהֵבִיא אֶת-קָרְבָּנָהּ עָלֶיהָ, עֲשִׂירִת הָאֵיפָה קֶמַח שְׂעֹרִים; לֹא-יִצֹק עָלָיו שֶׁמֶן, וְלֹא-יִתֵּן עָלָיו לְבֹנָה--כִּי-מִנְחַת קְנָאֹת הוּא, מִנְחַת זִכָּרוֹן מַזְכֶּרֶת עָו‍ֹן. 15 

then shall the man bring his wife unto the priest, and shall bring her offering for her, the tenth part of an ephah of barley meal; 

he shall pour no oil upon it, nor put frankincense thereon; 

for it is a meal-offering of jealousy, a meal-offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to remembrance.

טז  וְהִקְרִיב אֹתָהּ, הַכֹּהֵן; וְהֶעֱמִדָהּ, לִפְנֵי יְהוָה. 16 

And the priest shall bring her near, and set her before the LORD.

יז  וְלָקַח הַכֹּהֵן מַיִם קְדֹשִׁים, בִּכְלִי-חָרֶשׂ; וּמִן-הֶעָפָר, אֲשֶׁר יִהְיֶה בְּקַרְקַע הַמִּשְׁכָּן, יִקַּח הַכֹּהֵן, וְנָתַן אֶל-הַמָּיִם. 17 

And the priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel; 

and of the dust that is on the floor of the tabernacle the priest shall take, and put it into the water.

Numbers Chapter 3

א  וְאֵלֶּה תּוֹלְדֹת אַהֲרֹן, וּמֹשֶׁה:  בְּיוֹם, דִּבֶּר יְהוָה אֶת-מֹשֶׁה--בְּהַר סִינָי. 1
Now these are the generations of Aaron and Moses in the day that the LORD spoke with Moses in mount Sinai.

ב  וְאֵלֶּה שְׁמוֹת בְּנֵי-אַהֲרֹן, הַבְּכֹר נָדָב, וַאֲבִיהוּא, אֶלְעָזָר וְאִיתָמָר. 2
And these are the names of the sons of Aaron:
Nadab the first-born, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

ג  אֵלֶּה, שְׁמוֹת בְּנֵי אַהֲרֹן, הַכֹּהֲנִים, הַמְּשֻׁחִים--אֲשֶׁר-מִלֵּא יָדָם, לְכַהֵן. 3
These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests that were anointed, whom he consecrated to minister in the priest's office.

ד  וַיָּמָת נָדָב וַאֲבִיהוּא לִפְנֵי יְהוָה בְּהַקְרִבָם אֵשׁ זָרָה לִפְנֵי יְהוָה, בְּמִדְבַּר סִינַי, וּבָנִים, לֹא-הָיוּ לָהֶם; וַיְכַהֵן אֶלְעָזָר וְאִיתָמָר, עַל-פְּנֵי אַהֲרֹן אֲבִיהֶם.  {פ} 4
And Nadab and Abihu died before the LORD, when they offered strange fire before the LORD, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children;
and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest's office in the presence of Aaron their father. {P}

ה  וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה, אֶל-מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר. 5
And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:

ו  הַקְרֵב, אֶת-מַטֵּה לֵוִי, וְהַעֲמַדְתָּ אֹתוֹ, לִפְנֵי אַהֲרֹן הַכֹּהֵן; וְשֵׁרְתוּ, אֹתוֹ. 6
'Bring the tribe of Levi near, and set them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him.

ז  וְשָׁמְרוּ אֶת-מִשְׁמַרְתּוֹ, וְאֶת-מִשְׁמֶרֶת כָּל-הָעֵדָה, לִפְנֵי, אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד--לַעֲבֹד, אֶת-עֲבֹדַת הַמִּשְׁכָּן. 7
And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole community before the tent of meeting, to do the service of the tabernacle.

ח  וְשָׁמְרוּ, אֶת-כָּל-כְּלֵי אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד, וְאֶת-מִשְׁמֶרֶת, בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל--לַעֲבֹד, אֶת-עֲבֹדַת הַמִּשְׁכָּן. 8
And they shall keep all the furniture of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the sons of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.

ט  וְנָתַתָּה, אֶת-הַלְוִיִּם, לְאַהֲרֹן, וּלְבָנָיו:  נְתוּנִם נְתוּנִם הֵמָּה לוֹ, מֵאֵת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל. 9
And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons;
they are wholly given unto him from the children of Israel.

י  וְאֶת-אַהֲרֹן וְאֶת-בָּנָיו תִּפְקֹד, וְשָׁמְרוּ אֶת-כְּהֻנָּתָם; וְהַזָּר הַקָּרֵב, יוּמָת.  {פ} 10
And thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons, that they may keep their priesthood;
and the common man that draweth nigh shall be put to death.' {P}

יא  וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה, אֶל-מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר. 11
And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:

יב  וַאֲנִי הִנֵּה לָקַחְתִּי אֶת-הַלְוִיִּם, מִתּוֹךְ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, תַּחַת כָּל-בְּכוֹר פֶּטֶר רֶחֶם, מִבְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל; וְהָיוּ לִי, הַלְוִיִּם. 12 'And I, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the sons of Israel instead of every first-born that openeth the womb among the sons of Israel;
and the Levites shall be Mine;

יג  כִּי לִי, כָּל-בְּכוֹר--בְּיוֹם הַכֹּתִי כָל-בְּכוֹר בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם הִקְדַּשְׁתִּי לִי כָל-בְּכוֹר בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל, מֵאָדָם עַד-בְּהֵמָה:  לִי יִהְיוּ, אֲנִי יְהוָה.  {פ} 13
for all the first-born are Mine:
on the day that I smote all the first-born in the land of Egypt I hallowed unto Me all the first-born in Israel, both man and beast, Mine they shall be:
I am the LORD.' {P}

יד  וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה אֶל-מֹשֶׁה, בְּמִדְבַּר סִינַי לֵאמֹר. 14
And the LORD spoke unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying:

טו  פְּקֹד אֶת-בְּנֵי לֵוִי, לְבֵית אֲבֹתָם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם:  כָּל-זָכָר מִבֶּן-חֹדֶשׁ וָמַעְלָה, תִּפְקְדֵם. 15
'Number the sons of Levi by their fathers' houses, by their families;
every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them.'

טז  וַיִּפְקֹד אֹתָם מֹשֶׁה, עַל-פִּי יְהוָה, כַּאֲשֶׁר, צֻוָּה. 16
And Moses numbered them according to the word of the LORD, as he was commanded.

יז  וַיִּהְיוּ-אֵלֶּה בְנֵי-לֵוִי, בִּשְׁמֹתָם--גֵּרְשׁוֹן, וּקְהָת וּמְרָרִי. 17
And these were the sons of Levi by their names:
Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari.

Torah Trek 96 "Those that pitch on the east side toward the sunrising"

The Camp of the Almighty on earth is a military installation. Marching orders are, the Tribe of JESUS will lead the way.

Numbers Chapter 2 7/3/17

א  וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה, אֶל-מֹשֶׁה וְאֶל-אַהֲרֹן לֵאמֹר. 1 

And the LORD spoke unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying:

ב  אִישׁ עַל-דִּגְלוֹ בְאֹתֹת לְבֵית אֲבֹתָם, יַחֲנוּ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל:  מִנֶּגֶד, סָבִיב לְאֹהֶל-מוֹעֵד יַחֲנוּ. 2 

'The children of Israel shall pitch by their fathers' houses; 

every man with his own standard, according to the ensigns; 

a good way off shall they pitch round about the tent of meeting.

ג  וְהַחֹנִים קֵדְמָה מִזְרָחָה, דֶּגֶל מַחֲנֵה יְהוּדָה לְצִבְאֹתָם; וְנָשִׂיא לִבְנֵי יְהוּדָה, נַחְשׁוֹן בֶּן-עַמִּינָדָב. 3 

Now those that pitch on the east side toward the sunrising shall be they of the standard of the camp of Judah, according to their hosts; 

the prince of the children of Judah being Nahshon the son of Amminadab,

ד  וּצְבָאוֹ, וּפְקֻדֵיהֶם--אַרְבָּעָה וְשִׁבְעִים אֶלֶף, וְשֵׁשׁ מֵאוֹת. 4 

and his host, and those that were numbered of them, threescore and fourteen thousand and six hundred;

ה  וְהַחֹנִים עָלָיו, מַטֵּה יִשָּׂשכָר; וְנָשִׂיא לִבְנֵי יִשָּׂשכָר, נְתַנְאֵל בֶּן-צוּעָר. 5 

and those that pitch next unto him shall be the tribe of Issachar; 

the prince of the children of Issachar being Nethanel the son of Zuar,

ו  וּצְבָאוֹ, וּפְקֻדָיו--אַרְבָּעָה וַחֲמִשִּׁים אֶלֶף, וְאַרְבַּע מֵאוֹת. 6 

and his host, even those that were numbered thereof, fifty and four thousand and four hundred;

ז  מַטֵּה, זְבוּלֻן; וְנָשִׂיא לִבְנֵי זְבוּלֻן, אֱלִיאָב בֶּן-חֵלֹן. 7 

and the tribe of Zebulun; 

the prince of the children of Zebulun being Eliab the son of Helon,

ח  וּצְבָאוֹ, וּפְקֻדָיו--שִׁבְעָה וַחֲמִשִּׁים אֶלֶף, וְאַרְבַּע מֵאוֹת. 8 

and his host, and those that were numbered thereof, fifty and seven thousand and four hundred;

ט  כָּל-הַפְּקֻדִים לְמַחֲנֵה יְהוּדָה, מְאַת אֶלֶף וּשְׁמֹנִים אֶלֶף וְשֵׁשֶׁת-אֲלָפִים וְאַרְבַּע-מֵאוֹת--לְצִבְאֹתָם; רִאשֹׁנָה, יִסָּעוּ.  {ס} 9 

all that were numbered of the camp of Judah being a hundred thousand and fourscore thousand and six thousand and four hundred, according to their hosts; 

they shall set forth first. {S}

י  דֶּגֶל מַחֲנֵה רְאוּבֵן תֵּימָנָה, לְצִבְאֹתָם; וְנָשִׂיא לִבְנֵי רְאוּבֵן, אֱלִיצוּר בֶּן-שְׁדֵיאוּר. 10 

On the south side shall be the standard of the camp of Reuben according to their hosts; 

the prince of the children of Reuben being Elizur the son of Shedeur,

יא  וּצְבָאוֹ, וּפְקֻדָיו--שִׁשָּׁה וְאַרְבָּעִים אֶלֶף, וַחֲמֵשׁ מֵאוֹת. 11 

and his host, and those that were numbered thereof, forty and six thousand and five hundred;

יב  וְהַחוֹנִם עָלָיו, מַטֵּה שִׁמְעוֹן; וְנָשִׂיא לִבְנֵי שִׁמְעוֹן, שְׁלֻמִיאֵל בֶּן-צוּרִישַׁדָּי. 12 

and those that pitch next unto him shall be the tribe of Simeon; 

the prince of the children of Simeon being Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai,

יג  וּצְבָאוֹ, וּפְקֻדֵיהֶם--תִּשְׁעָה וַחֲמִשִּׁים אֶלֶף, וּשְׁלֹשׁ מֵאוֹת. 13 

and his host, and those that were numbered of them, fifty and nine thousand and three hundred;

יד  וּמַטֵּה, גָּד; וְנָשִׂיא לִבְנֵי גָד, אֶלְיָסָף בֶּן-רְעוּאֵל. 14 

and the tribe of Gad; 

the prince of the children of Gad being Eliasaph the son of Reuel,

טו  וּצְבָאוֹ, וּפְקֻדֵיהֶם--חֲמִשָּׁה וְאַרְבָּעִים אֶלֶף, וְשֵׁשׁ מֵאוֹת וַחֲמִשִּׁים. 15 

and his host, even those that were numbered of them, forty and five thousand and six hundred and fifty;

Of the sons of Benjamin, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

These are those that were numbered, which Moses and Aaron numbered, and the princes of Israel, being twelve men; 

they were each one for his fathers' house.

And all those that were numbered of the sons of Israel by their fathers' houses, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war in Israel;

מו  וַיִּהְיוּ, כָּל-הַפְּקֻדִים--שֵׁשׁ-מֵאוֹת אֶלֶף, וּשְׁלֹשֶׁת אֲלָפִים; וַחֲמֵשׁ מֵאוֹת, וַחֲמִשִּׁים. 46 

even all those that were numbered were six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.

מז  וְהַלְוִיִּם, לְמַטֵּה אֲבֹתָם--לֹא הָתְפָּקְדוּ, בְּתוֹכָם.  {פ} 47 

But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them. {P}

מח  וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה, אֶל-מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר. 48 

And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:

מט  אַךְ אֶת-מַטֵּה לֵוִי לֹא תִפְקֹד, וְאֶת-רֹאשָׁם לֹא תִשָּׂא, בְּתוֹךְ, בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל. 49 

'Howbeit the tribe of Levi thou shalt not number, neither shalt thou take the sum of them among the sons of Israel;

נ  וְאַתָּה הַפְקֵד אֶת-הַלְוִיִּם עַל-מִשְׁכַּן הָעֵדֻת וְעַל כָּל-כֵּלָיו, וְעַל כָּל-אֲשֶׁר-לוֹ--הֵמָּה יִשְׂאוּ אֶת-הַמִּשְׁכָּן וְאֶת-כָּל-כֵּלָיו, וְהֵם יְשָׁרְתֻהוּ; וְסָבִיב לַמִּשְׁכָּן, יַחֲנוּ. 50 

but appoint thou the Levites over the tabernacle of the testimony, and over all the furniture thereof, and over all that belongeth to it; 

they shall bear the tabernacle, and all the furniture thereof; 

and they shall minister unto it, and shall encamp round about the tabernacle.

נא  וּבִנְסֹעַ הַמִּשְׁכָּן, יוֹרִידוּ אֹתוֹ הַלְוִיִּם, וּבַחֲנֹת הַמִּשְׁכָּן, יָקִימוּ אֹתוֹ הַלְוִיִּם; וְהַזָּר הַקָּרֵב, יוּמָת. 51 

And when the tabernacle setteth forward, the Levites shall take it down; 

and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up; 

and the common man that draweth nigh shall be put to death.

נב  וְחָנוּ, בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, אִישׁ עַל-מַחֲנֵהוּ וְאִישׁ עַל-דִּגְלוֹ, לְצִבְאֹתָם. 52 

And the sons of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man with his own camp, and every man with his own standard, according to their hosts.

נג  וְהַלְוִיִּם יַחֲנוּ סָבִיב, לְמִשְׁכַּן הָעֵדֻת, וְלֹא-יִהְיֶה קֶצֶף, עַל-עֲדַת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל; וְשָׁמְרוּ, הַלְוִיִּם, אֶת-מִשְׁמֶרֶת, מִשְׁכַּן הָעֵדוּת. 53 

But the Levites shall pitch round about the tabernacle of the testimony, that there be no wrath upon the community of the sons of Israel; 
and the Levites shall keep the charge of the tabernacle of the testimony.'

Of the sons of Joseph:

Of Asher, Pagiel the son of Ochran.

יד  לְגָד, אֶלְיָסָף בֶּן-דְּעוּאֵל. 14 

Of Gad, Eliasaph the son of Deuel.

טו  לְנַפְתָּלִי, אֲחִירַע בֶּן-עֵינָן. 15 

Of Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan.'

טז  אֵלֶּה קריאי (קְרוּאֵי) הָעֵדָה, נְשִׂיאֵי מַטּוֹת אֲבוֹתָם:  רָאשֵׁי אַלְפֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, הֵם. 16 

These were the elect of the congregation, the princes of the tribes of their fathers; 

they were the heads of the thousands of Israel.

יז  וַיִּקַּח מֹשֶׁה, וְאַהֲרֹן, אֵת הָאֲנָשִׁים הָאֵלֶּה, אֲשֶׁר נִקְּבוּ בְּשֵׁמֹת. 17 

And Moses and Aaron took these men that are pointed out by name.
